Essex and Community Historical Research Society Annual Fundraising Dinner
For the 12th consecutive year, the Essex and Community Historical Research Society will host its annual Fundraising Dinner.
On Saturday night, March 30, beginning at 5 p.m. at the Royal Canadian Legion in Essex, the night will include a silent auction and special guest entertainment.
ECHRS has been a source of historical reference for the entire area since 2007 and is located in the beautiful 1914 Carnegie Library at 18 Gordon in Essex Centre. For decades, the fashionable brick building served as the town library.
Led by President Laurie Kowtiuk, hours of operation are Tuesday, 1-7 p.m., Thursday, 1-5 p.m. and Saturday from 10 a.m to 5 p.m.
According to Kowtiuk, ECHRS is dedicated to the preservation of documents of the town and surrounding areas and is a source for those looking to do research on their families and to look up historical land records.
A recipient of the Town of Essex’s Community Heritage Preservation Award, ECHRS welcomes new members and invites students to come in and work towards their community service hours.
